Dear Qiyamah A. Rahman & Janey Skinner

Let me introduce myself first: My name is Sung Hyun Yun (People call me
Eric). I am a Korean and work for the Center for Pan Asian Community
Services (CPACS) in Georgia as Director of Domestic Violence Prevention
Program. When I saw the name of Raksha and Men Stopping Violence in the
discussion, I just felt very stimulated and impressed and wanted to give
you more information. Actually I have met Dick (from MSV) this afternoon at
the Dekalb County Domestic Violence Task Force meeting.

Anyway, there is a TAPESTRI which is a Refugee and Immigrant Coalition
Against Domestic Violence in Georgia. TAPESTRI includes Raksha, CPACS (my
center), and other minority community centers (especially in the DV area).
TAPESTRI's BIP group has a Korean, a Chinese, a Polish, a Mexican, and an
African-American facilitator and batters immigrated from various countries.
I always see in this group culturally competent process, contents, dynamic,
and approaches.

In the CPACS I created a BIP group for the Korean-Americans. The batters
and I use the Korean language. To evaluate the effectiveness of the BIP
group, I utilize pre and post-test toward the perpetrators and their
partners. I use five different scales and see how their scores are
different at the end of the 24-week program. The point is that I depend on
partner's score as well as on perpetrators' score.

If you want to know more about the TAPESTRI, please visit www.tapestri.org
If you want to know more about the CPACS' BIP group, call me at
770-936-0969 or email me. Thanks

Sincerely
Eric Yun
