This is a good objection, but a digital signature does not allow to change a single bit. If any linebreak is inserted (or removed) after creation of the signature it must be broken, that's in the nature of things. That's why only keeping to minimum standard (rewrap at 72) before creation of the signature will keep it intact. Personally, I find text with lines longer than about 80 chars hard to read. I'm not alone: most newspapers also stick to this rule.
