Okay, this is what I did: Reemerged mail-client/thunderbird-17.0.6
with USE flags -crypt. Then installed 1.5.2 Linux x86_64 from the
official Enigmail website. Problem is gone. Will file a bug with the
Gentoo bugtracker.
