Performing a keyserver search, revoked keys are shown in italic and
are greyed out. This is a good indication. However, it should not be
impossible to import it, as someone might try to proove an old signature.

See above. Your first keyserver search didn't distinguish because the
key wasn't revoked on the keyserver at this point of time.

Yes, we could do this, but that's - if at all - only a very weak
indication for the "right" key. In other cases as yours there might be
an old key with a lot of signatures but revoked, and a brand new, with
no or very few signatures.

In my eyes this was due to the fact, that the revocation wasn't on the
usual keyservers at this time.

Please do not understand me wrong, I do not want to say that there is
nothing to improve in Enigmail behaviour or display. But I think that
if changes are made they should improve user experience in general.
