Hi there, I'm using Thunderbird 45.1.1 on OS X with Enigmail 1.9.3 (20160603-1417) and also tried the nightly build (build date: 2016-06-13, version: 2.0a1pre, git rev: 97050e4789b4ea56cff653098143409e3adcc2a6) to no avail. My keys and everything was working fine before re-installing OS X on my laptop. I imported the Enigmail settings from the previous installation, but something seems to be off.
When sending signed (non-encrypted) messages the send operation aborts with the error message "encryption command failed" after entering the password, so I tried to follow the troubleshooting section "Resolving issues with GnuPG 2.x and gpg-agent", but although I'm an intermediate level sysadmin I have a hard time to get my head around this. I first manually created a symlink from /usr/local/gnupg-2.1/bin/pinentry-mac.app/Contents/MacOS/pinentry-mac to /usr/local/bin/pinentry. When I now execute the script from step 1 in the troubleshooting section, I get the following answer > 2016-06-13 22:14:16.782 pinentry[957:39089] No Info.plist file in > application bundle or no NSPrincipalClass in the Info.plist file, exiting I added "pinentry-program /usr/local/bin/pinentry-gtk" to ~/.gnupg/gpg-agent.conf and restarted my machine once again. Now I get the following error before being able to enter the password > GnuPG cannot query your passphrase via pinentry. After removing "pinentry-program /usr/local/bin/pinentry-gtk" from gpg-agent.conf and rebooting once more, I'm back to the initial error message "encryption command failed" after entering the password. When I run gpg-connect-agent I get > gpg-connect-agent: no running gpg-agent - starting > '/usr/local/gnupg-2.1/bin/gpg-agent' > gpg-connect-agent: waiting for the agent to come up ... (5s) > gpg-connect-agent: connection to agent established > > GETINFO version > D 2.1.12 > OK Executing gpg-connect-agent as indicated in step 6 brings up the graphical window as expected. Also tried step 7 which does not provide any additional info. The output is > gpg-agent[639]: enabled debug flags: command cache ipc > gpg-agent[639]: listening on socket '/Users/nick/.gnupg/S.gpg-agent' > gpg-agent[640]: gpg-agent (GnuPG) 2.1.12 started > Killed: 9 > Nicks-MBP:~ nick$ gpg-agent[640]: parent process died - shutting down > gpg-agent[640]: gpg-agent (GnuPG) 2.1.12 stopped > gpg-agent[640]: secmem usage: 0/32768 bytes in 0 blocks Any ideas what I might be missing here?
