Enigmail does not publish your public key without your consent.

Try to open Enigmails key management. Select "Reload key cache". Is
there still no key pair (keys in bold and pub/sec in the Type column)
displayed? If not, Enigmail has a communication problem with GnuPG.

No. Enigmail uses GnuPG for key storage as well as for all cryptographic
operations.
