The major issues effect systems with multiple displays. I was blaming terminology for some stuff that I thought came from an EFL update and was bugs in Terminology. Must be something in E as 0.21.8 is rock solid on my dual display desktop. This can be closed or changed from terminology to E 0.22.x. This is E 0.22.x specific. I do not ever experience this under 0.21.x, regardless of EFL version. False report against terminology. Just triggered it. https://phab.enlightenment.org/T6145 I had less issues on my single display laptop. I do plug in external and swap, but never have 2 active. I assume its related to 2 active displays. 100% cpu, locking up E and system at times. I could walk from my desktop doing nothing. Then come back to it locked up and must hard reboot system. Sometimes happens under load, or just randomly when idle. Switching back to 0.21.8, the following issue remains and seems to come from EFL not E. This is an EFL 1.20.x issue not E 0.22.x. I never saw it on 0.21.x but I do now with 0.21.8 and EFL 1.20.6 . Though rarely happens on my dual display desktop. This happens several times a day on my laptop for GTK stuff, claws-mail and firefox. https://phab.enlightenment.org/T6144 I have not experienced this in a bit, but it was happening on my dual display desktop not laptop. I can take screenshots on laptop. I assume this issue maybe specific to multiple displays. https://phab.enlightenment.org/T6222 I could not use bryce at all under 0.22.x I tried with clean install, no saved settings, etc. I was trying to update API on Clipboard module to new gadget API from gadecon or what ever the old one currently used by Clipboard module. I haven't tried since going back to 0.21.8, but I think there are bugs fixed or better bryce support in 0.22.x. I can see about doing new gadget API dev under 0.21.x but could not under 0.22.x > Whenever we get to the point of dropping the legacy API the efl major > version will be increased Sure and till then I would expect most to still use legacy API. Then when ever the next major/minor version comes out. Can look to switch from legacy to new. Though may need a transition release, such that legacy can be fully removed after the initial release of new API. I compare it to like GTK 2 -> 3, or QT 3 -> 4 -> 5. Not sure why EFL does not want 2.x, vs 1.21. It is confusing. Even Java has kicked those bad habits with Java 9, and Java 10 is already in the works to be released in March. No more Java 1.x, since the minor version was the major version. Anyway will not be fun I think to update apps coded within the last year to a newer API. Could prevent application development now which I think others are trying to appease with partial releases. But that makes even more of a mess for application developers. IMHO Why I think its best to split codebase vs try to make it all happen in one. But that is not my call to make. Trying to keep legacy bug free while furthering a new API I believe is creating tremendous bugs and not really helping to further things all around. -- William L. Thomson Jr.
