I tend to update weekly, more or less, but it's been happening for a
long time.  nVidia 295.40, 310 is marked as "**experimental**beta", I
prefer to stick with the current stable recommended version.  Hmm, I
thought I was using composite with OpenGL, but it was software.  I
switched to OpenGL to try it out now.

That still does not answer the question about the work arounds that
where put in the code.  I did not need them in the beginning, I'd like
to turn them off to see if they are causing problems now.
