Wow. two days on the list and look what I've done.
sorry 'bout that.
These lists operate on a bit of a social contract. We all pitch in and
help where we can in exchange for a flood of information that may or may
not be useful. That's the deal. I noticed a bunch of off-list replies to
my first post and thought perhaps the operation was different over here.
I believe it has been SOP on some lists to post a summary back to the
list after a discussion has resolved. And I was merely trying to find
out if that was practice here.
Meanwhile, I'm having a ball playing with E and thanks for doing this.

I didn't. I removed nothing whatsoever between the URL and your
statement, and what came after your statement didn't in any way change
that you said the document was stupid.
No it isn't. Just because you don't understand it or agree with it
doesn't make it stupid. In fact, the guy is right. Unfortunately,
raster is also right -- there are far too many ignorant, lazy, and/or
careless users who cannot take the 2 seconds required to check the
destination for the reply they're composing.
That's exactly what i said. Unfortunatly you missed the part after the
word "stupid".
This is exactly what you said:
This is stupid. Conversations should take place on the list, so
everyone can benefit from questions of other users. Adding a
Reply-To will increase on-list discussions.
I would love to know how you came to the erroneous conclusion that
what you said and what I said were even close to being "exactly" the
same.
Well, that's fine for you. But as I posted before, it's not a solution.
Sure it is. You may not like it, but it's a solution.
I'm only complaining about lots of information getting lost due to
off-list discussion.
I think "lots of information" is an exaggeration of reality. But it's
been done, so be happy and move onward. And I say that to everyone:
get over it and move on.
