I've always used e17 on my desktop pc under slackware, now I've bought a new
laptop and wanted to try out a more user friendly distribution, so I've
installed ubuntu :)

in a gnome session all works pretty well, in a fresh e17 session there are the
following issues:
- though the current locale is set to it_IT.UTF-8 menu applications are not
translated as all the rest. I mean, every single part of e17 speaks italian,
but items in the applications menu, or in the system menu, are in english.
- I'm not able to control display brightness through hotkeys (Fn->key). every
other hotkey works as expected but the brightness control, even if I configure
the keybindings XFMonBrightness[Up/Down] to the correct actions.
- is there a way to remove (or modify) the "boing" effect for focus-in but
still keeping all the other composite effects?
- I don't realize how connman should work. it says "no connman" and doesn't
allow me to configure anything. I thought it was for some conflict with
network manager, but removed NM and nothing changed, so I had to configure my
lan through /etc/network/interfaces.

thanks in advance for every hint :)
