Check your language support in the GNOME administration menu: is it
complete, and correctly configured?

Check your permissions in the users and groups tool (choose
administrator profile).

Well, there is not much difference between lucid and maverick, handling
menus in e17 is a pain in the ass... E is poorly internationalized. As
you well know, many strings in the gui are still not translatable.

I assume the "connman" package is correctly installed on your system...

Install the "sysv-rc-conf" package and make sure connman is ticked for
run levels 2, 3, 4 and 5 (run sysv-rc-conf in a terminal). Then reboot
your computer and configure the connman gadget in e17.
