Not running composite here and ibar is transparent so:

Is the ibar a gadget or on a shelf?

Do you have retained settings in your home directory from previous
installation under /home/yourusername/.e?

Are you using the default theme?

Probably the easiest thing to do is create a new user account for
testing purposes. Log in to new account and set up gadgets/shelves as
you want but with the default theme.

As to Intel graphics I saw it mentioned recently, not sure where, that
Intel may have produced a new/better driver which I assume you would
need to download from them.
