I hope > this is not the case... systray is a specific thing - its a direct copy of the windows systray by the major desktops (kde/gnome). you don't fill it with apps - if you run an app that has a systray icon - it will go in there - but that's it. you need apps that use it and then need to run them. i detest the systray personally for many various technical reasons. e17's shelf is a generic "panel" for stuff - you can have as part of it a systray, but also launcher icons, pager etc. e17 can have as many panels as you like places along the screen edges with many variations of size etc. > > > - e16 seems to support convenient user configurable menu's whereas e17 > > > seems to lack it.
