Well, that kind of sucks...

Second question: given an Evas_Object (what is passed into the "clicked" event
callback -- I am assuming this is the elm_button object), is it possible to
get the *root* x & y position? I know that I can get the object's *relative*
[to its parent] x and y via evas_object_geometry_get(), but how would I get
the root window position? I presume I would have to walk up the tree, but
would this work correctly?

static void
event_cb(void *data, Evas_Object *obj, void *event_info)
{
    Evas_Coord relx, rely, topx, topy, rootx, rooty, w, h;
    Evas_Object *top = elm_object_top_widget_get ( obj );

    evas_object_geometry_get (obj, &relx, &rely, &w, &h);
    evas_object_geometry_get (top, &topx, &topy, NULL, NULL);
    rootx = topx + relx;
    rooty = topy + rely;

    ...
}

Evas_Object *button = elm_button_add(win);
evas_object_smart_callback_add(button, "clicked", event_cb, mumble);
