I think I have worked this out now The screen in question is connecting using a displayport. So I think it is HPD that is causing this. This page had some relevant information, even though I have an nvidia: http://www.x.org/wiki/radeonhd/ I also found some other posts where people were complaining of similar issues on windows, with nvidia. Has something changed with regards to HPD in enlightenment lately?
