That did it! It was set to +/-0.1. I'm guessing it's supposed to be a percentage? I set it to +/-10 and counted 10 presses from max brightness to off, anyway. On the subject of bindings, though... edge bindings instead of key bindings: The default bindings for edges are all "flip desktop in direction..." which works fine for all of the edges except for the top left corner. I've even deleted the binding and recreated it, but i cannot get the desktop to change by moving the mouse into that corner. All other corners and edges work fine, it's just that one. If i change the binding to, say, "show everything launcher", placing my mouse in that corner does display the launcher. It just won't switch desktops.
