I am using MS HyperTerminal and Putty's terminal program. I also used different USB-to-Serial adapters as well as the serial port at my docking station.
All this works with a C2 I have here for testing. Even though with this other green colored firewall device on my desk... ;) So I would say that USB-adapter, serial port, driver and terminal software is working. I have changed the patch cable as well. Three different cables, same result. I also changed the RJ45 to DB 9 adapter. Still no connection. It is not that I see strange characters or something, I just see no output nor can I type something in there. The terminal software just seems to be dead. And I stick to the configuration described in the documentation. 9600 bps Data bits: 8 Parity: none Stop bit: 1 Flow control: none Attached is a picture of what s in MS HyperTerminal. Same with PuTTy -----Original Message----- From: Simon Read [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, October 26, 2009 12:02 PM To: Enterasys Customer Mailing List Subject: Re: [enterasys] Access to D2 via serial cable Hi Thomas, I'd want to confirm the adaptor and cable are ok, if possible, by checking it against other Enterasys equipment. I'd also want to confirm that, "Flowcontrol" on my serial settings was set to, "None" Hope this helps, Simon Read Enterasys Product Manager *Duxbury Networking *Specialist Networking Distributor/ /*tel:* +27 (0) 11 351 9800 *fax:* +27 (0) 11 646 7519 *cell:* +27 (0) 84 676 9200 *email:* [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> *web:* www.duxbury.co.za <http://www.duxbury.co.za/> [email protected] wrote: > > Hi, > > > > I just got some D2 devices returned to me.
