Latest update is that a different method of implementing LAGs is being explored to see if the B3 and C3 can get flexible LAGs with Release 6.61. This is NOT a commitment to deliver the capability on the B3 and C3 but it is being actively explored. At a minimum, G3, B5 and C5 will have flexible LAGs support with Release 6.61. B3 and C3 MAY get the support depending upon our success of implementing an alternative method of doing LAGs. Before anyone asks, there are NO PLANs to ever support Flexible LAGs on the B2 or C2 platform.

The B3 and C3 will not get Flexible LAGs. The G3, B5 and C5 use different hardware switching ASICs so they are the only platforms that will get flexible LAGs. But will it be a firmware upgrade for existing installations? Last time I checked with GTAC, I was told that this is a hardware limitation! -----Original Message----- From: Pala, Zdenek [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, August 04, 2011 11:17 AM To: Enterasys Customer Mailing List Subject: RE: RE:[enterasys] LACP ports in a C2 Stack Hi, On B5/C5 we will support flexible link aggregation in near future. Then you can chose if you want 6 groups of 8 ports or 8 groups of 6 ports or 12 groups of 4 port or 24 groups of 2 port each... Each LAG can have 8 Ports. This is a Hardware limitation and cannot be resolved by firmware upgrade. This is common for B series and C series. Basically I have two C2 (C2G124-48)switches configured in a stack however based upon the information I have read the C2's are only capable of 6 LAG ports(lag.0.1-0.6) in total. I would have assumed that with two switches in a stack this would have doubled to twelve ports as when you halve it, 3 lag ports per switch isn't many? Any assistance would be much appreciated.
