two switches in a stack this would have doubled to twelve ports as when you
halve it, 3 lag ports per switch isn’t many?

For those interested the answer to my own question is as follows:

C2 are only capable of 6 LAG ports. It is actually 6 LAG ports per STACK. If
it is single switch, you have 6 LAG ports. Even in a stack of 6 switches, still
6 LAG ports.

This is also true for all A, B, C-series stackable workgroup switches.

If you need large number of LAG ports, the new S-series, which has 127 LAG
ports.
