Thank you all for your suggestions.  After working with GTAC, the issue appears 
to be with the fiber in the building.  Everything else is working correctly.

Thanks for that info, those are nice. I would sometimes use a cut cat cable, 
but that will look better!

As for the fiber port issue, I run G3's which have the same setup of shared 
ports and it is either one or the other. I thought the fiber took priority, but 
I am not 100% sure.

I usually keep auto negotiation on whenever possible, the only time I run into 
an issue is when the infrastructure cannot support gig speed, but the switch 
and device can. In those instances I hard set the speed. For the uplink fiber 
ports though, I say to keep it at auto on both ends.

Only 1 port at a time and most likely the GBIC port has priority Some put old 
cable ends in the ports( cut the cable off ) to prevent any confusion

Hello All,
I am now trying to uplink two network closets together using GBICs
but the ports aren't lighting up.  Are there any special commands to
configure on the GBIC ports to get them to uplink?

I had same problem, was Cisco trained. I took some of Enterasys's
bootcamps. They are very helpful. GTAC is helpful too.

I am having trouble getting them configured at all.  The commands are
very different than on Cisco switches.
I know I have to create all of the vlans on the Enterasys switches
because they don't recognize VTP but I am not having any luck.

What is the problem you are having?  We have Enterasys to Cisco back
to Enterasys and vice versa...  Sending trunked vlans both directions.
