The builtin sync feature probably uses encryption, but I do not know if that encryption is any good (I remember having read that the password-encryption provided by the master password is not good). An alternative suggestion to the original poster would be to store the whole profile on the (mapped) cloud drive, but then it is of course unencrypted.
