Check your Modem control panel to make sure that you have a serial port that
the Palm recognizes. You should be able to toggle between a modem and serial
port. I bought a Serial to USB converter from Keyspan, and the CD that comes
with that hardware installs software that allows the Serial Port Arbitrator
to recognize the Palm. I found it's also more reliable to set the HotSync as
enabled at startup time. Some day Palm may get around to creating a USB
cradle, a feature available with the Visor.
