Carsten,

I believe that the monitor parameters are stored in PRAM. Your PRAM may be
corrupted - why not erase the PRAM with TechTool or Command-Option-P-R while
booting.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the 60 MHz option is unavailable on the
iMac. On a computer monitor as opposed to a TV, the phosphors have a shorter
"persistence". This means that at 60 MHz, many people will notice flicker.
So it is likely that Apple eliminated this choice on the iMac, which is not
designed to be all that customizable.
