Trying to be extra clear here. For Ruth and other folks who don't use
AppleScript:

The Script Editor is the basic application that programmers use to write
AppleScripts for their Macs. It's extremely basic, so many of us use the
more full-featured Smile. If you don't do programming, you have zero need
for this.

You can download most scripts from AppleScriptCentral.com in ready-to-use
format. If you want to use a script from this list, copy the script, run
Script Editor, and paste it in. Then save the script.

You'll have four format options in Script Editor (recent versions). Use
only these two:

Compiled script: use this to create an item that appears in the Script menu
in Entourage (the S between Window and Help). Save this script to
Documents:Microsoft User Data:Entourage Script Menu Items. It has to be
there.

Application: use this to create a double-clickable application that you can
use like any other application in the Finder. I posted a script that can be
used this way about an hour ago.

One warning: AppleScripts can do a hell of a lot of damage. Dan Crevier
posted a really small one 10 minutes ago that will wipe out your calendar.
Others might MEAN to do well, but write a buggy script. Some of us can read
through an AppleScript and make sure it's safe, but if you can't, BACKUP
YOUR DATA before running any new script!

Best,
Jeff Porten
