Hi all,
I'm brand new to the list, so apologies in advance if I'm stating obvious or
known info. But it would seem not from this thread I'm reading on my first
digest...
I discovered this problem and asked Microsoft support junkies at MacWorld in
SF last month about this, and they confirmed that it's an issue that needs
to be addressed.
If you create a multi-day event in Entourage, it will sync as a single day
event on the Palm. This is because Palm's datebook doesn't support multi day
events.
What Palm's datebook DOES support is repeating events. So, if you want to
create a 'banner' on Entourage that shows up as a 'banner' on the Palm, you
have to create the event as a single day, repeating event. It will show up
as a banner in Entourage (actually a string of repeating non-timed events,
which looks like a banner but isn't). It's the same thing as if you created
a multi-day event on the Palm (which is actually a single day repeating
event) and synced back to the desktop.
Yes, this sucks. In a big way. Hopefully Microsoft is hard at work on this
one! I can understand that it's a limitation in the Palm software, however
there should be something in the sync that can convert consecutive repeating
events into multi-day events, and vice-versa.
If this is incorrect info in anyway, please let me know... but this is what
I was told at MacWorld.
As for my own string of Entourage/Palm problems, I'll go back to lurking for
a spell before spewing forth ;-)
