It has been said by those who know more than I do that the problem occurs
when both IE and E'rage try to access the same file (MIL) at the same time.
One generates an error ("File in Use") and causes the crash. By placing the
second copy in the Microsoft Office 2001:Office folder, each program then
uses its own copy and the problem is gone. I, for one, have been amazed at
how little my Mac crashes (except for *certain* websites that appear to use
an evil Java).
