Crickey, I didn't want to set of a war here. Apologies for calling them
third party scripts - look, my point is that there are easier ways to do
things that shouldn't require outside intervention. OK, that one example
that we're deliberating on; original here.....

.... is pretty minor in comparison, but the real point if it is that if the
database were searchable as fast as the Palm Desktop was, it wouldn't be an
issue in the first place. Palm Desktop handled this beautifully. You hit
Command-F, and the find window opened. Assuming the last search you had done
was for a contact, it was still in contact mode (if not, it was a single
click away). You typed a few letters of either the first name or last name
or company and it brought up all matches as quickly as you could type the
letters. Now, maybe my brain has glorified it over the last few months of
using Entourage's slow search and I think Palm is better than it was, but
not by much.

First off, I said in the very first place that I didn't want to hear a load
of "well if you like it so much, go back to it..." rants, because that's not
the point. The point is to try to get Entourage to be the best it can be. I
think it's a damn fine app, just a bit rough around the edges. I did
research it, thank you very much, but nothing I found said that searching a
database of 2000 records was going to be piss slow compared to the Palm.
Nothing said that auto-link features were missing. And since alarms of this
caliber were pretty new to me, I didn't have anything to compare them to.
Besides, I upgraded to 2001 pretty dang early because I was extremely
anxious for the Palm integration.... comments aside on how well THAT works.

Wow... and I thought I was just starting a feature request list.
