Eric,
Someone on this list brought up the issue of searching performance, which
led to a discussion of archiving. I don't honestly remember who brought it
up. And I don't think it matters -- this list is for people (even the
lurkers) to discuss problems, offer suggestions, find solutions. When the
application doesn't work exactly how we want, we share our pooled knowledge
to find solutions.
I offered archiving suggestions ranging from free but very elegant
solutions, to very efficient shareware and commercial combinations, to, yes,
some pretty kludgy ideas. I fully acknowledged that not everyone is eligible
for the reduced cost of some of the products. But some people are: you
aren't the only person reading this list, Eric.
I archive my Entourage email regularly, using the shareware application EEA.
It's quick, it's easy, and it was cheap. It's how I make my Mac work for me.
The thing that I truly, truly appreciate about Entourage is that it allows
me, shareware authors, whoever, to come up with these solutions. We all know
that not every suggestion will be viable for every person.
So, thanks for your thanks to my suggestions. But don't tell me to get a
clue for trying to be helpful.
