Personally I appreciate the discussion on searching alternatives and data
base exporting.
I have a 500 megabyte email archive, and I don't like the thought of
searching if its going to take hours. No one has two hours to spend with
their computer locked up on a search.
On the other hand the effort involved in exporting the data to a data base,
working out whether the email you want is one place or another and a
generalised search is also time consuming.
Neither solution seems perfect. Even in the Mac world reality rears its ugly
head again.
Powermail of course offers Sherlock style searching, but doesn't have the
integrated client management that is Entourage's chief distinguishing
feature.
All in all we need Microsoft to get on with its famous Version 2 will solve
all your problems approach to life.
Can I add my personal plea for powerful, useful easy to use features over
more features.
Searching, finding ,organising and maintaining contact data and email
information is one of life's everyday chores now that we all live in the
electronic global village.
An email program that does that powerfully and simply is likely to be well
received in my not so humble opinion.
