I'm probably the only person in the world who actually finds that master
documents work well for me. :-). I use them to create many different
combinations of a bunch of sub-documents. I have about 50 sub-documents,
ranging in length from half a page or so to a couple that are 10 pages long.
I combine them in different ways to make different main documents. It's a
little tricky to get the headers and footers to work out (I eventually
learned *never* to put headers and footers in the sub-documents). I know I
did a lot of screaming when first setting this thing up, but it now works
and I can produce the master documents relatively easily and quickly,
without having to worry about whether one of the little pieces got changed
between yesterday and today. Oh, and if you want to know how to send a
master doc as an email attachment...
