Mine is formatted using a third party driver which has a conniption fit
under MacOS X. And, of course, on the Beige G3, the Firewire/USB PCI card
has a conniption fit first. ;-)

Dang it, that's embarrassing. I'd really like to say that I did it on
purpose "for maximum effect". But really it was just a brain fart. You're
quite right, those were separate machines and separate issues.
I spent most of the weekend in a desperate attempt to distract myself and I
thus broke (and fixed) several computers as a result. ;-) None of this
would have happened if my car had been repaired and thus I could have gone
kayaking...
