Nah, I mean, really, how serious is that?  Spaceflight?  We (humanity) have
been doing that for what, 30+ years?


Personally, I don't consider my not being able to play with my digital video
toys on my Beige G3 to be that horrific (or surprising).  I more consider it
amazing that I was (previously) able to make my Beige G3 play with digital
video at all.  This was the (officially supported) machine I considered my
worse case MacOS X scenario.  I really don't think it describes the general
case.

I'm still of the belief that if you run mainstream applications under MacOS
X on a current machine, you'll have a relatively seamless experience.  And I
hope to be verifying that theory later this week or early next week.


As for next weekend...if my car still isn't repaired...well, I've got this
8500 with a third party G3 processor card...and given that they've gone to
the trouble to open-source Darwin and all... ;-)
