What, and risk getting sued for attempting to establish a monopoly?

Oh wait, never mind.  That only applies when Microsoft extends the
functionality of the Microsoft operating system...

I am, frankly, surprised that QuickTime hasn't added such rendering to its
bag of tricks over the last several years.

I am even more surprised that it wasn't part of Quartz.

And given that every damned thing you turn over in MacOS X is XML, it seems
like there'd be an HTML renderer in there somewhere as well...

So, how much does Apple's "HTML Rendering Library" (aka HTMLRenderingLib)
actually give you?  It's supposed to be able to do at least rudimentary
display...which seems sufficient for most email clients.  And it claims to
be fully carbon compliant.
