Good question. My rationale was that the digest would save my mail server
from overflowing with messages and I thought that the download time would be
faster with the digest. Since I only check for mail once or at most twice a
day it didn't seem to make any difference otherwise. I like the single
messages since I can go back and track through the threads which are not
linked while still in the digest. I also get meaningful titles for the
messages. So I guess the only real reason for subscribing to the digests is
a perception of quicker download (and that may be pretty lame from a guy
using a cable modem <grin>)
