First, going back to the original issue of blank messages after bursting: The eMA digest is a Yahoo digest, right? My guess is that it is not in standard digest format, and that Erage's "burst" facility isn't handling it correctly. There was a script, "Burst OneList Digest," posted by Phil Kearney originally for OE. I have ported it to Erage for myself. I use a script, Burst Universal, that uses that script when the list is from Yahoo, and otherwise tries the "burst" command; if that fails, it then tries "Burst Malformed Digest". Take a look on my scripts page in the "Extract" folder.

Second, about the pause thing while bursting. It <does> drive me nuts when it happens without warning. Therefore, I don't burst in MLM. For very high interest lists I receive the individual messages. For others, I receive the digest and then I scan it. If the subjects look interesting (and sometimes they are not), I run the Burst Universal Script. Otherwise I just delete the entire digest.

Other options: try Digest Viewer (very nice app). You have to save the digest as a text file and then open it in the viewer, but it works very nicely, and puts threads together for you. I have a script that saves the digest and then opens it in Digest Viewer when I hit Control-Shift-X.

Script is called Save Digests As Text, and yes, it is on my web site in the Export/Import folder. The version there lacks the automatic opening in Digest Viewer; to add that, just put"

tell application "Finder" to open theFile

As the last action in "ProcessMsg"...like this:

            end tell --
tell application "Finder" to open theFile
        end if
    on error theMsg
        display dialog theMsg
    end try
end ProcessMsg --
