I did do a little more investigation. This area of weird cursor updating is
in a constant place. It starts approximately 750 pixels from the left hand
edge and extends right for about 300 pixels. The area starts approximately
68 pixels from the top and extends down for about 200 pixels.

This means that if you are using a 640x480 screen resolution you have no
problem. On an 800x600 screen resolution the problem area is only in the
far right hand side of the screen (3/4 inch on a 20 inch Sony Multiscan
300sf monitor) and the top half of the screen. As you go to higher
resolutions the anomalous area box moves across the screen. So when you get
to an 1152x870 screen resolution there is a space (about 1.25 inches on my
monitor) on the far right hand side of the screen where the cursor updating
works fine.

Now somebody only has to figure out why there is a 300x200 pixel Bermuda
Triangle (actually it is a rectangle) in the display space.

Hope this helps,

   Jim
