Thank you Allen and Paul for your help. Allen, this is what I tried to do and the folder lands in the inbox. The "move" box on the toolbar is gray so I can't use that to move it. I did what I used to do until I learned how to move them in Claris Emailer (which was just as you describe below) - create a new folder, move the messages, revise the rule for that folder, and delete the folder stuck in the wrong place.
