Just to put it out there -- I've fixed the problem (I hope!) -- in case someone can offer an explanation:
This morning, Entourage started crashing (unexpected quit) on me as it was checking my main account (a university server) from a schedule. I tried the following: (1) rebuilt the database (2) checked other accounts manually: they worked The main account still kept crashing E'rage X, whether checking manually or from the schedule. It looked like it was crashing as the mail was actually being checked (for some reason, there is a long delay when E'rage is trying to log on to my university account; I don't think this is an E'rage problem). So, I decided to go online and look at the account with Pine (using the OS X terminal). Did this, none of the messages seemed bad, none were large, etc. Deleted some recent messages that I'd left on the server as well as a few new ones that had arrived overnight. Tried E'rage X again. It now seems to work. Anyone have any ideas? [Incidentally, while typing this message, a new message arrived on my main schedule, so everything in fact does appear solved now. Still...
