It was probably the oldest one there, if you don't leave messages on the server, or one of the most recent ones if you do. You can do what you did more easily within Entourage itself, by going to your account in Tools/Accounts and checking Online Access in the Options page there. that will put your server into your folder list. You can click on it there, and see all the messages on the server: it's like a poor man's IMAP. You can turn off the Preview Pane, select a bad message, and delete it. You'd find out which one was bad by turning the preview pane on and selecting each unread message in turn.
