These are definitely related, but are different in significant ways.

The Airport Software Base Station uses a licensed copy of IPNetRouter
(IPNR). It's a "faceless background application", not the full-up IPNR.

In fact, there are configurations where it makes sense to use both IPNR
*and* an Airport Base Station. Read this page for more detail:
