I guess the solution would have to be that each application opens it's own address book independent of each other. Take it away form the database daemon and let each program handle which identity it has open at any given time for it. This also might get messy. Another possibility would be to use the power of unix, and run two different users at the same time with the Mac GUI. I don't know if that is possible, but I can do things like run Xfree86 (Xwindows) GUI and Mac GUI at the same time, so this might not be too far fetched. Anyway, I'll live with it the way it is.
