Personally, this is far from the truth for a lot of the emails I receive. I get a lot of emails which are similar to daily/weekly/monthly newsletters. I never need to reply to these messages so I do not have them set up as mailing lists nor would I want all of these addresses cluttering up my address book. I do use rules to file and/or categorize them though.
