Title: Re: Internet Explorer 5.1 on Mac OS X and office startup for office v.Mac
I have the same problem with Quicken WebConnect.  All of my files come down with the wrong type and creator, regardless of what my fiel helper preferences say, and so they just sit there on the desktop.  I have to change the type and creator code on the file and then use them in Quicken.

Just to clarify:  this is not a Quicken problem — WebConnect uses the web browser (I’m using IE 5.1 in MacOS X) to download the file and set its attributes correctly.  IE just won’t do it for me.

I am trying to click open .xls, .doc and .ppt files from web page. I have

All of the files go direct to the download files and do not open up in the
excel. The files are probably all situated on a sharepoint server...
