Sub-editors don't work with styles, Paul. They work in text-only. This is
because the styles must be set by the artist in Quark. There is no point
using any styles when generating copy for Quark. They will all be stripped
out prior to import.

That is why, for non-experts like me, this creates work and is a backwards
step.
