When you first attempted to rebuild, Entourage probably only partly
succeeded, with the resulting database being useless. However, your original
database should still be there in your identity folder, renamed "Old
Database". Find that file and make a copy of it to fall back to. Delete the
"newer" database file.

Then, try the advanced rebuild. That <may> work.

Also, try trashing your preferences files before the rebuild:

Preferences can be found in your user folder: Library: preferences:

The entire  MS folder.
Home/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/

all com.Microsoft.*.plist
