Verdana works fine for me (it's a TrueType file, I believe), but I have a
few old PostScript Type 1 fonts (with separate files for font metrics and
bitmaps) which don't display well. At sizes other than those for which I
have bitmaps, the spacing of letters gets very funky--letter shapes are ok,
but spacing is off.
