For what it's worth, I've had this bug for as long as I've been using
Entourage 2001, through several different installs. My "Empty Deleted Items
At Quit" schedule is set up as follows:
When: On Quit ("Only if connected" is UNchecked)
Action: Delete Mail from Deleted Items older than 7 days
Enabled
I always work in "online" mode and this schedule has never worked. If I run
it manually, or manually run an identical one that isn't scheduled, it works
fine. For example, the other day I had over 1400 deleted messages in my
Deleted Items, many of which were weeks old; running the schedule manually
reduced the number to a few hundred. But the "At Quit" version does nothing.

Just to be clear, the bug hits me even when I'm "online"
