Sorry, but I must disagree.

In my experience, Retrospect does *NOT* skip files that have changed between
the start and the actual backup. It *does* complain when files change
between the backup and the compare. But even then, these files have already
been backed up, and are most likely just fine.

(I have restored from a backup where the Microsoft Database file was, in all
likelihood, flagged as "changed" between the backup and compare operations.
The restored database has performed quite well, thank you!  :-)

Depending upon how one's preferences are set, such "errors" can stop the
backup process. I have always allowed Retrospect to continue after it logs
an error, since the remainder of the backup generally works just fine.
