It was not entirely unexpected, but your original question was about being aware of having received the invitation. Since it showed up as a message, I was aware of it. I didn't pay attention to the calendar -- but I rarely use the calendar. (Yes, folks, I have a paper calendar. With ink all over it. Sue me -- I like to feel my dates, er, appointments. :)
I doubt spammers utilize Entourage on a wide scale. And I have yet to receive a spam invite on Outlook. I have, of course, received a zillion spam e-mails via a variety of methods. Personally, it seems so unlikely that this is an "opening" to send me spam that doesn't already exist just by virtue of having an e-mail address that I can't really worry about it. I understand you're really saying you don't like that a spammer can appear in your calendar months after you deleted the original message, but I just don't think it's going to come up very often. Given that I get the same spam five times a day via e-mail . . .
