In my view, MS took cognisance of the fact that users don't always read
their mail immediately. If I sent somebody an invitation for tomorrow
afternoon, and the mail sat there unread until after the time specified,
they would miss it simply because they hadn't read the mail. However, in the
default set up, Entourage will TENTATIVELY add the event to the calendar,
complete with reminder is it has one set, so you won't necessarily moss the
meeting. Of course, when you get round to examining the invitation mail, you
can decline the invite (and consequently delete the event) or accept it, and
fic the event there permanently.

I would much, much rather have events added tentatively than miss a meeting
with a potential customer, just because I'm behind in reading my mail.
